I seem to accidentally buy new makeup every time I’m my phone, thanks to Aliexpress. This £6 gem from Focallure is probably my favourite impulse purchase so far.
Over the last few months, I’ve been planning to film a video with makeup from Aliexpress – or maybe I’m just telling myself that to justify the amount of cosmetics I’ve purchased. I’ve been putting most of my packages to one side for the video; but when the Focallure Sculpt Glow in 01 Maui Nights & Opal* arrived, I had to open it up and try it out. I haven’t put it down since.
I don’t own a huge amount of contouring products – or at least in comparison to the rest of my collection. Most sculpting powders from the drugstore look like harsh orange lines on my fair skin, so I’m sure you can imagine my surprise when I swatched the Focallure Sculpt Glow and it actually… looked really good?

The packaging feels much more luxurious and weighty than you’d expect for the price. It’s the same height as a deck of cards and feels rather sturdy, making it ideal for travel. There’s even decent sized mirror inside for touch-ups.
However, it’s the product itself that I’m in love with. The contour shade leans a little warm in photographs – but trust me, the tone is beautiful. It’s a really pigmented formula so I tend to use a light hand, though it builds up beautifully as well when I want a stronger look. I love to use it with the Real Techniques Contour Brush* to create the illusion of cheekbones.
Maybe the highlight is the teeniest bit to dark for me, but with a light hand I can make it work in the summer. It would probably suit light-medium skin tones a little bit more. I prefer to use it as an eyeshadow with a little bronzer in the crease, as it reflects the light beautifully.
