Affiliate Links, Gifted Items, and Sponsored Posts.
I do my best to make it as clear as possible when posts contain affiliate links and/or gifted items, or when posts are sponsored. There will be a text disclaimer on these posts, as well as the following markings:
Affiliate Links (marked ‘*’)
Some text links on redsmakeup.blog and all links in shopping widgets are affiliate links, which means if you click on them and purchase a product I will earn a small commission. This does not affect the price you pay for the product. Affiliate links are marked with an asterisk (*).
Gifted Items (marked ‘gifted’ or ‘ad’ in post title)
I pay for the majority of my makeup myself. However, occasionally I am lucky enough to occasionally receive PR samples. A free product is not the same as a sponsored post (see below), however the post might still be marked as an advert (‘ad’) under some circumstances.
If I have been sent a product with no obligation to feature the item on my blog or any of my social media channels, I will mark the post as ‘gifted’. However, if the product is sent in exchange for a review, the post will be marked ‘ad’ under ASA guidelines.
Sponsored Posts (marked ‘sponsored’ in post title)
Any sponsored content here, on my videos, or on any other social media will always follow ASA guidelines and clearly be marked with #ad or ‘sponsored’. The first lines of the post will also state that it is a paid collaboration. Please note that no amount of money could ever persuade me to sell a product I didn’t genuinely like.
Previous Collaborations
Under ASA guidelines, I will mention in some posts if I have worked with a brand in the past year – even if that particular post contains no gifted items and is not sponsored. This will be mentioned in a text disclaimer at the top of the post.
