Revolution Reloaded Iconic 3.0 Eyeshadow Palette Review & Swatches

When Revolution launched more of their £4 Reloaded palettes, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on the neutral options. Here’s what I think of their Reloaded Iconic 3.0.

Hang on, this looks familiar…

First of all, as the name might suggest, the Revolution Reloaded Iconic 3.0 Palette* is very similar to a previous palette they launched a few years ago: the Revolution Iconic 3 Palette*. When I ordered the Reloaded 3.0 palette online, it looked like a slightly rosier palette with some shades leaning a little warmer; so I thought the two palettes would compliment each other. However, when it arrived in the post, I realised the two palettes weren’t sisters – they were twins.

Below you can see the Reloaded 3.0 Palette (top left) and the Iconic 3 Palette (lower right) in the first picture. In the second picture, I’ve watched the most similar shades next to each other. If I’d seen the new Reloaded 3.0 palette in store, I would have probably given it a miss as some of the shades are identical to what I already had in the Iconic 3.

But there are some nice things about the palette, too.

If you don’t already own the first Iconic 3 palette and you love your pinks, greys, and purples; this would be a very nice product to have in your collection. In a world of bright orange warm toned palettes, it’s refreshing to see something cool toned on the market. You also get an extra three shades in this palette for the same price, which is a nice bonus.

How does it perform?

The shimmer shades in this palette work really well, and look especially pigmented when applied with your fingers. I’m not as enthusiastic about the lighter matte shades which take centuries to build up, however considering it’s only £4 for fifteen shades it could be a lot worse.

Final Thoughts.

The colour selection and price point make this a lovely palette for beginners, or hoarders like me who enjoy adding to their collection. However, if you already have the original Iconic 3 (or any of the other dupes of the Urban Decay Naked 3 palette) then you probably don’t need this one.

What do you think of this palette? Will you be picking it up? Let me know in the comments.
