Travel Beauty Staples That You Need to Pack

I’ve been on a few trips recently, and quickly discovered that I couldn’t fit my entire skincare and makeup collection in my suitcase. So that’s a drag.

Makeup

When it comes to makeup, I’ve got enough products for a few different looks, but everything still fits comfortably inside my makeup bag – I’m chatting all about the contents in today’s video. I have some go-to staples that I use daily to define my face: the Seventeen Stay Time Concealer*, the Rimmel Professional Brow Pencil* and the Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara*. I know I’ve spoken about them a million times before on my channel, but it’s for a good reason. I always take my favourite things when I’m going away as I know they won’t let me down.

My trick for a versatile makeup travel bag is to throw in a few products that can amplify my look if there’s a special occasion. A good highlighter like the Technic Get Gorgeous Highlighter* is perfect for this, as you can use it sparingly and get a soft glow, or build it up for an evening look. I think eyeliner is another great way to step up your makeup – I love a nice brown gel liner, but lately I’ve been really into the  NYX Glam Liquid Liner in Nude*. It’s probably the easiest way to use glitter. I’ve worn this as an eyeliner and all over the lid, and both look amazing. And don’t forget the red lip; I’ve been using Revlon Colorburst Balm Stain in Romantic* day and night as you can use it sheer or build it up.

Skincare

For overnight visits and weekends away, I’ve managed to strip my skincare down to the bare minimum. In fact, there’s been more than one occasion when I’ve used a (gasp) cleansing wipe. I know, they’re terrible – but sometimes it’s late and you’re staying at your boyfriend’s house watching Rick and Morty and you really can’t be bothered phaffing about. For such a time, I really like the Simple Cleansing Wipes*. If you don’t like cleansing wipes but still don’t want to get off the sofa for your evening skincare routine, I like to have a 125ml bottle of Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water* and some cotton pads in my stash as well.

I like to use an oil in the evenings but most of mine come in a glass container which isn’t exactly travel-friendly, so I picked up the Superdrug Naturally Radiant Moisturising Facial Oil* which comes in a tiny plastic bottle and feels very nourishing on the skin. I always love Superdrug’s own brand skincare range and this one did not disappoint.

I managed to save a bit of space in my suitcase when I went to Belgium recently by packing a moisturiser that I could use on my face, hands, and body. I’ve been using Nivea Soft* since my university years and it never lets me down, plus it’s super cheap.

Another essential is the Simple Revitalising Eye Roll-On*, great for when you’ve just stepped off a plane or had a late night. And don’t forget the SPF! I’ve been loving the La Roche-Posay Ultra Light Sun Cream Fluid SPF50* lately, it’s moisturising without being greasy.
