Gosh Mineral Powder Review

Today, I'm sharing the product I use almost every day... the Gosh Mineral Powder in Ivory 002.

As I have an uneven complexion, I've found that liquid foundations need a lot of building up in some areas of my face, which takes far too long when I'm rushing around in the morning. The mineral foundation is lovely because building it up takes a few seconds. I start off with some Baby Skin Primer on my nose/cheeks/forehead, and concealer wherever I need it. Then I whip out the mineral powder, and the magic begins. I just tap out a small amount of powder into the lid, swirl a brush in and tap off the excess before buffing it into the skin, applying more where needed. It's better to start off with a small amount and then build it up, as tends to be the case with pretty much every foundation or base product. It's really good for evening out pinker complexions, like mine.

At first, it might look a smidge too dark, or a little cakey in some areas. But leave it an hour or so and somehow it meshes with the skin and gives a lovely glow, even if I add a little setting powder on top. This doesn't make my face itchy if I leave it on all day like a liquid foundation does, though if I'm wearing it at work (I work in retail, so lots of long shifts on my feet) I'll carry around some pressed powder for touch-ups to stop the glow turning into shine. I've noticed since I bought it that Gosh have released a Prime and Set Loose Powder which looks like it would work really well with this so I might give that a go, too.

When I do wear liquid foundation or CC Cream, I really like dusting this over the top to give that extra coverage for a flawless finish.

Mineral foundations are really hard to find in the drugstore, so I'm really happy that this one comes in a pale shade, has a decent amount in the pot, and at £9.99 is at the price I would expect to pay for a base product. I love it so much that I tend not to use the many liquids foundations in my collection, and haven't felt any urge to buy any more - quite a strong statement from a beauty blogger!

Are there are other mineral powders you love?
