My Pocket-Sized Reminder To Be More Confident

It's Not How Good You Are, It's How Good You Want To Be by Paul Arden

When I heard about the book It's Not How Good You Are, It's How Good You Want To Be by Paul Arden on Grace Victory's blog, I knew I was going to have to buy it. Those of you who remember my New Year's Resolution might have twigged why I would want to own a book with such a title - in short, I am trying to believe in myself this year, and a pocket-sized confidence boost looked perfect.

I read this cover to cover, but this is the kind of book you can pick up and flick to any page and find something useful. It's written for creatives working in advertising or similar, but as a photography graduate trying to make her way in the world I still enjoyed the book and even made notes of the advertising-specific tips, as I don't know where my career will take me.

If you're the sort of person who double-taps the motivational quotes on Instagram, you're going to really love this because it's basically the same thing, but in a slightly more elegant book form. If you're the sort of person who is coming to realise that making a life for yourself is a lot more complicated than you initially thought it would be, you will also really enjoy this book. If you're looking for a nice background prop for your next blog photo, then what the hell - you'll probably quite like this book, too. For creative people, this is well worth the £4.95 (I got mine for half the RRP second hand, gotta love Amazon Marketplace).

Have you read this book? What did you think of it?

I always read and reply to comments! Say hello!
