My New Skincare Duo: Nivea Soft and Bio Oil

I briefly mentioned in my last post that I've been having a lot of skin problems recently. There are a number of possible culprits: stress, sun, dehydration, and somehow developing an allergy to my previous night cream. As a result my skin has been more red and drier than usual. I've been trying a couple of new things in my routine to sooth my skin, and I think I've settled on using the Bio-Oil Specialist Skincare Oil and the Nivea Soft Refreshingly Soft Moisturising Cream, as they seem to be the only products that are actually having any effect.

I've been putting off buying Bio-Oil for a while due to the price, but then I found the 200ml bottle on Amazon for £9.99 instead of £19.99 so I finally caved. I read a lot of good reviews for it and it sounded like the thing for me, claiming to help with dehydrated skin and uneven skintone, both of which I have. I rub it in well in circular motions and my skin instantly feels softer.

When my skin is less dry I'm quite happy with the Nivea Soft on it's own - it's a very versatile product and it's quite good value for money - but combined with the Bio Oil it has become my very own miracle product. It's thick but not greasy, and really can be used anywhere. It does seem a bit strange having such heavy products on in the summer when most people switch to lighter products and would probably save the oil for when it gets colder - but for some reason I seem to really need it.

After using this for the last few days my skin already feels less dry, and I haven't had any major flare-ups. I'm hoping if I keep using these, drink more water, and stay strict on the SPF, I'll see some improvements.
